Have you ever wondered how celebrities always seem to have perfect teeth? Many of them have visited a cosmetic dentist to receive porcelain veneers. This treatment can transform the way teeth look and provide results that retain their beauty for many years. If you are interested in hiding your smile’s imperfections, we invite you to visit New Haven Dental Group in Woodbridge for a cosmetic consultation. After we examine your mouth and discuss your goals, we may recommend porcelain veneers as the best way to give your teeth a brand-new look.
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin pieces of porcelain that we attach to the fronts of a patient’s teeth. The veneers thereby hide the outward surface of the natural teeth, making all of their flaws disappear. Veneers can be used to disguise a broad range of imperfections, including discoloration, cracks and chips, small gaps between the teeth, teeth that are disproportionally small, and more.
Some patients receive one or two veneers to cover their most troublesome teeth, whereas other patients opt for a full set of 4 – 8 veneers to change their mouth’s entire aesthetic. Whichever category you fall into, we will take great care to ensure that your veneers complement your facial structures and the surrounding dentition, thus providing you with results that are both beautiful and natural-looking.
Some of the most outstanding benefits of porcelain veneers include:
The porcelain veneer process typically takes place across two appointments. At the first appointment, we prepare your teeth by removing a sliver of enamel from them. This step is necessary to make sure the veneers do not make your teeth look bulky or unnatural. Then, we take impressions and images of the teeth. We send that data, along with detailed notes, to a dental laboratory, which then fabricates the veneers.
You will wear temporary veneers while the laboratory creates your permanent ones. When the veneers are ready, you will return to our office so we can verify their fit and attach them to your teeth.
